This book is a wonderful quick read for anyone interested in bicycling touring or just plain post-high school adventure in an era now long lost. Just reading about what it was like traveling cross country 100 years is a real hoot. For example, do you know what a corduroy road is? (Check wikipedia). Can you imagine just walking up to a farm or construction site for a couple days work? How about being offered a free meal someone’s home and then performing simple chores in payment?

Highly recommended fun read.
