One of the most frightening books I have ever read but one that should be read be everyone. Our only real defense against smallpox, like nuclear weapons, is that the consequences of their use are so horrendous as to be beyond comprehension and thus useless. This is really little comfort considering human history but it’s all we have. Thus, the more everyone understands the horrors of smallpox the more it will be removed as a weapon.
