Sweaty Males Increase Women’s Hormones
Ok Ladies, the secrets out. The reason us sweaty males are so attractive after a good workout is that male sweat contains androstadienone, a nonhormonal, steroidal constituent that “increases positive mood, total physiological arousal and sexual arousal, which grew with longer exposure.” All this reported in todays Scientific American and published in this week’s issue of The Journal of Neuroscience.
“The researchers exposed 21 subjects to 30 milligrams of androstadienone and to yeast, which is not in sweat but has a similar olfactory sensation. The participants took 20 sniffs of each in two separate trials.”
“They measured mood and sexual arousal by checking the levels of cortisol, a hormone that has been associated with arousal and mood, in saliva samples.”
I guess this puts a new spin on mouth watering!

Cortisol is also the ‘stress’ hormone which triggers the saliva because she is probably just hungry — it’s really the tight lycra pants — that triggers the interest.
