Emergency Power for Cell Phones
One problem with the wide use of cellphones, particularly for people that ONLY have cellphones is what happens in an emergency when the battery runs out. For example, in a significant ice storm when power could be out for days. The cellphone may be a help when the telephone lines go down but power is a problem. Even worst, if you get stuck out of cellphone range, rescuers can home in on the cellphone signal but only as long as the battery lasts. Well, here is a brief video that provides a neat solution by adapting a hand cranked flashlight to recharge the phone battery.
