UK MOD is really “cool”
From a recent posting of mine on another site:
I would never have considered the UK MOD has “coolâ€. As a Vietnam-era veteran; the prospect of getting shot at, even in the service of your country, isn’t really cool. However, the MOD has recently stepped up the “cool†factor even for them.
Here is a reference to a BBC article describing recruiting videos on YouTube being used by the UK Armed Forces.
“The Ministry of Defence (MoD), Royal Navy and Royal Air Force have channels on the popular internet site.â€
I guess I’ll just keeping looking (and hoping) for US companies to increase their “coolâ€.

Given the recruiting challenges the US armed forces are facing, I’d expect them to persue similar avenues. The YouTube audience ought to be a prime recruiting target.
Instead they seem to be advertising towards parents and other influencers about money to buy a house or start a business afterwards.
